Battlestar Galactica — The Widget!

BSG Season 2 widget

We released our new Battlestar Galactica widget this morning.

The widget displays the number of days, hours, minutes, and seconds until the start of Season 2. (You were probably counting in your head anyway, right?)

For those who aren’t familiar with widgets, they’re a very cool feature that Apple introduced in Mac OS X Tiger (the latest version of the Macintosh operating system).

As Apple puts it: “Dashboard is home to widgets: mini-applications that let you perform common tasks and provide you with fast access to information. With a single click, Dashboard appears, complete with widgets that bring you a world of information — real-time weather, stock tickers, flight information and more — instantly. Dashboard disappears just as easily, so you can get back to what you were doing.”

So far, the response has been tremendous. We’ve had over 500 widget downloads in less than 24 hours. If you haven’t downloaded the Galacticaa widget yet, please check it out.

(To install, just click on the widget icon at the top of the sidebar on the right and follow the instructions.)

This is really a Cylon plot to breach the Mac’s seeming immunity to viruses. This “widget” is really a portal for their Battlestar crippling software, and will render your Mac powerless to stop the Cylons from decimating the Mac community.

Anyone familiar with recent history should know that networking computers like this is a bad thing.

    Frak! They’re on to us!!!

  3. Look, as long as this laptop is under MY command, I WILL NOT be networking it. When I decommission it, you can do what you want with it.
