Battlestar MUSH

Ok, time for our first post about the original Battlestar Galactica television show. (For those of you who don’t know, Battlestar Galactica is based on a short-lived, but highly-loved television series which aired during the late 70s.)

Over the weekend, I discovered Battlestar MUSH.

Battlestar MUSH

A MUSH is a text-based game played online with other people. The letters in MUSH stand for “Multi-User Shared Hallucination”. Battlestar MUSH, as the name implies, is a MUSH that takes place in the world of 1978 version of Battlestar Galactica.

To play the game, connect to Battlestar MUSH via telnet at 161.57.201.4:4201 or attend.ferris.edu:4201. Once there, you’ll need to spend some time creating a character. (Take the game seriously… I tried to skimp on my character’s description and the Battlestar MUSH admins gave me a hard time.)

Once your character is approved, the game starts and you can choose which vessel in the “rag tag” fleet you’d like to be posted on. After that, it’s all up to you!
